Our Story

1996

Devon and Sid were born 100 miles apart. Devon in Gap, Pennsylvania and Sid in Lewes, Delaware.

2000

During her childhood, Devon vacationed at the Delaware beaches. We will never know if they crossed paths earlier in life!

2016

Devon and Sid met through mutual friends while in college. They got to know each other better during the Summer of 2016 after Devon begged Sid and his roommates to use their in-unit laundry. (Everything feels expensive when you're in college!)

2017

They started dating after partnering up on a project in Ergonomics class. Together they made a chair, which broke.

2018

Before they even graduated college, Devon recieved a job offer in California. They drove across the country to move all of her belongings. Sid flew back to the East Coast to hunt for jobs while living at his parents' house. They didn't know if they would end up living in the same timezone, let alone city, but Fate had plans for them. Sid found a job only a few miles from Devon and moved across the country only two months later.

2019

After a brief stint of fostering, they adopted their beloved boy, Cairo, from a local animal shelter. He's a good boy with bad breath.

2020

They hunkered down to weather the pandemic, doing their best to keep in contact with their families and continue to build community in California.

2022

Devon accepted a job offer from Nike and they once again packed up their life to move states, this time to Portland, Oregon.

2024

Devon and Sid put down roots in Portland, building community and making friends.

2026

During a wonderful trip to England, Sid proposed to Devon on a hilltop while watching the sunset. Their only witnesses were a ram and a sheep. (If you look closely you can see them in the background!)
